Atman was Enzo Catellani’s first experiment with a LED light source, an idea that came to him by chance, or perhaps by magic. It all began with a trip to India, where he came into contact with the intensity of a culture that combines silence and chaos, spirituality and misery. Here Enzo Catellani discovered holy oval stones and decided to recreate the same shape using glass. The name ‘Atman’ comes from a Sanskrit word meaning “soul”.

Lederam embodies the accuracy of the motion required to draw a line. The warm, softly coloured disks surround a LED module with an ultra-flat shape, which creates thin lamps and suspended forms with curved, sinuous lines.

When Enzo Catellani began creating new lighting fixtures using the first LED circuits, the intention was to create simple, discreet, almost invisible objects, that put emphasis on the light. This is how he moved away from a rather ‘aggressive’ style towards simple minimalism.

Luci d’Oro was developed after reflecting on the colour of light: the golden light of the sun and fire; warm light, in which the concept of refraction began to take shape in Enzo Catellani’s mind and which he used later in other creations.
