Pòta! selected for the ADI Design Index 2026

Pòta! by Catellani & Smith has been selected for the ADI Design Index 2026, the prestigious annual publication showcasing some of the most significant expressions of contemporary Italian design. The selection of the wall-mounted version, and its custom suspension version, marks an important mile-stone for the innovative collection, placing Pòta! on the path leading to the Compasso d’Oro, Italy’s most prestigious design award and recognising its design excellence and its ability to bring together technological experimentation and artisanal craftsmanship.

The wall-mounted and custom suspension versions of Pòta! are part of the Pòta! family, which also includes the collection’s spherical suspensions. Among these pendant configurations is the model featuring a plug driver and a ceiling-to-floor installation, distinguished by its distinctive anvil-shaped counterweight.
The project is the result of an extensive research process led by Enzo Catellani, resulting in the development of a new lighting unit, handcrafted in glass and brass and integrated with advanced LED filament technology.
At the heart of the Pòta! family is this light source itself, around which slender brass structures unfold. The lighting units are arranged according to a carefully balanced interplay of order and irregularity, creating a distinctive and dynamic composition.

In the wall-mounted and custom pendant versions, slender brass rods intersect to create an intricate geometry that brings the light into dialogue with the surrounding space. Both versions feature 20 ELV LEDs, while offering different installation solutions.
The wall-mounted model is equipped with a plug driver and can be installed individually or combined with additional modules to create bespoke lighting compositions with a strong visual presence. The custom suspension version, available on request, is suspended from steel cables fixed to the ceiling; this system enhances the lightness of the structure while emphasising its sculptural quality.
