Pòta! wins the 2025 Good Design Awards

The Pòta! family of lamps by Catellani & Smith has been awarded the prestigious international Good Design Award. This achievement follows last year’s success, when the renowned prize was awarded to the Ensō table lamp.

Selected from a record number of entries submitted from over 55 countries, Pòta! stands out for the strength of its concept, the result of an indepth research process that led to the development of a new lighting unit. The Good Design Award, presented by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, represents an important recognition of excellence, demonstrating how formal research, technological innovation, and artistic sensitivity coexist in perfect balance within the Pòta! lamp family—once again confirming Catellani & Smith’s distinctive approach to lighting design.

Pòta! features light brass structures in which the lighting units are arranged in a harmonious “pattern” that balances order and apparent randomness, creating a special interaction between light, space, and volume. The collection is available in three different models: the pendant version is characterized by a spheroidal structure, available in 50 cm and 85 cm diameters, with 18 and 36 ELV LEDs respectively. The pendant version with plug driver and floortoceiling installation maintains the same dimensions and number of lighting units, but is enriched by an anvil-shaped counterweight that ensures perfect balance.
Finally, the Pòta! wall version, equipped with 20 ELV LEDs, features slender brass rods that intersect to create a dynamic geometric pattern. This model is available with a wall-mounted base and plug driver, and can be installed individually or combined with other modules, to create striking lighting compositions with strong visual impact.
