The enchanting hills of Lajatico, in the province of Pisa (Tuscany), have been once again the scenery of the ‘Teatro del Silenzio’, this year at its twelfth edition, produced by City Sound & Events. In this open air theater, on 3 August, Maestro Andrea Bocelli performed the show ‘Il Canto della Terra’, accompanied by a symphonic orchestra, a choir and an artistic cast of international fame.
Under the artistic direction of Alberto Bartalini and the direction of Luca Tommassini, the Teatro del Silenzio has represented an exclusive event, a unique occasion for listening to the extraordinary voice of the Italian tenor live, in the surroundings where he was born and raised.
This year the scenography set at the center of the lake, among an impressive location of about 700.000 m2 , has been commissioned to the artist Giuseppe Carta, who has created for this extraordinary event a work entitled ‘The Red Giant’.
During the performance 300 artists, choristers and dancers alternated on the stage, decorated with Fil de Fer, the Catellani & Smith icon-lamp and synonym of Enzo Catellani’s creativity.
Fil de Fer, with its timeless appeal, gives an extraordinary distinguishing feature to the ‘lighting direction’ of private or ‘contract’ spaces, as well as to important international architectural projects. It is a lamp made of aluminium wire, which is woven and folded by hand to give its unique spherical shape that is studded and animated with next generation smallest LED bulbs.
Fil de Fer is a precious and scenic object, which is able to change the concept of a mere lighting object, to become a real lighting work of art, with a timeless appeal.
