Today, that colour is back.” Blue, yellow and red join fluo shades of pink, yellow, blue and orange, colouring hemispheres, rods, bases and surprising details that bring a lively touch to settings. The hemisphere is the hallmark feature of the new Ale range, composed of four different models: BE T, C, BIG and W, characterised by the unexpected detail of the fly resting on the hemisphere. Bellatrix, named after one of the brightest stars in the Orion constellation, is a wall lamp with a diameter of 120 cm featuring a handcrafted irregular surface expertly lined with gold coloured leaf. It is available in two versions: in the first, radial lines appear to be hand-drawn on the surface, while in the second, the design follows centrifugal curves. 
The Bellatrix disc is illuminated by 9 LED boards integrated into a 10 mm diameter brass rod, supported by a brass flex, allowing for adjustable lighting orientation. 
The interaction of light with the irregular golden surface and the indirect lighting effect, typical of Catellani &amp; Smith&#8217;s production, ensures a luminous comfort that makes this lamp suitable for creating environments with captivating charm.

Today, that colour is back.” Also available in the classic black and white finishes, the “colourful” versions of the Ettorino lamps feature an elegant combination of primary colours, mixing blue, yellow and red. Preceded by the development of an innovative patented system, these new articulated lamps are characterised by a simple, rigorous design featuring surprising details. The signature feature of all the lamps is a functional detail in the shape of a red, dancing  figure. Ettorino T has been designed as a desk lamp, to offer suitable lighting for work surfaces thanks to the possibility to move and rotate it.

Fil de Fer

Fil de Fer is a lighting fixture made of shaped, woven aluminium wire, which is lit on the inside by tiny bulbs. Designed and made by Enzo Catellani, it is the creation closest to his heart. Developed almost twenty years ago for a special commission, it was never used for that particular project and was hung up in his workshop. Each time it was switched on, it enchanted everyone with its special, magical atmosphere. Enzo Catellani decided then to continue working on it. The lamp was later placed on the market and quickly became the most iconic lighting fixture in the Catellani &amp; Smith range.

Giulietta

Thanks to battery operation and the absence of cables, the new Giulietta BE can be ‘transported’ easily anywhere. With a simple touch of the hand, Giulietta BE can be switched on and set to three different light intensities. Giulietta BE consists of a thin rod – which originates from a circular base – and a circular disc surrounding the rod, apparently without any support. The disc concealing the light source is the distinctive feature of the lamp, which is part of the “Giulietta” collection.

Gold Moon Chandelier brings a distinctive new twist to the traditional chandelier concept, turning it into a striking cascade of suspended light. It can be created in a variety of models, with different bases, finishes and numbers of elements, and is composed of a series of discs with irregular shapes, suspended from which are slender cables of different heights ending in beautiful copper curls cradling small LED lights. The internal surface of the discs, covered by hand in gold coloured leaf, engages with the light emitted by the LEDs, amplifying it and creating an alluring ambience.

The new Par 18 models by Catellani &amp; Smith are characterized by irregular blown glass shades. This exclusive texture, created according to Catellani &amp; Smith&#8217;s design by Bohemian master glassmakers and playfully resembling a golf ball, aims to maintain the transparency of the glass while generating a distinctive interaction of light with the uneven surface of the spheres. The Par 18 Chandelier is a creation that enriches Catellani &amp; Smith&#8217;s range of low-voltage Chandeliers with interchangeable light sources. Thanks to the transparency of the glass and the thin cables that support the pendants, the Par 18 Chandelier stands out for the lightness and elegance of the entire composition, as well as for the unique lighting effect. It can be made with spheres of the same diameter (8 cm or 16 cm), or by combining elements of both sizes; it can also be customized on request with bases of different sizes and finishes, with a variable number of elements and custom heights.

Petits Bijoux is a representation of ‘static movement’, the effect of an action that seems to imitate the gesture of throwing a stone into a pool of water, creating concentric waves that propagate into space. The concept of a sphere, the circle as a metaphor for the infinite and perfection, has been favourite, recurring theme during Catellani &amp; Smith’s thirty years of lamp production, and makes it return in this new pendant lamp, a lamp that is remarkably simple in its design but extraordinary in its workmanship.

“Pòta! is a new lighting element we have created, allowing us to imagine new shapes. New lamps that echo the early Catellani &amp; Smith creations. Lamps where lightness is the essence of volume. Where we’ve used attractive metals to shape a structure able to convey energy. The result is a slender design inspired by function. Conceived to be built by hand. Because that’s what we do best&#8230; ”

In the Pòta! series, light is the focal element around which slender, voluminous yet light structures take shape, and in which the lighting units are spread to create a contrasting interplay between order and disorder.

Enzo Catellani has designed his first collection of outdoor lights for Catellani &amp; Smith in response to the trend that, over the years, has seen living spaces move outside into terraces and gardens, creating extensions of the house. Enzo Catellani’s main goal was to create a collection of indoor lamps suitable for outdoor installation; lighting fixtures created for the outside, but able to recreate the same warmth and atmosphere as indoor lights. Glass plays a starring role in this collection. This is how were developed Syphasera, Syphasfera –  both lamps created by the designer Maurizio Quargnale in cooperation with Catellani &amp; Smith – and Syphaduepassi, which, thanks to their minimal design, integrate perfectly with the surrounding environment, as if they were part of nature itself.
